Sphinx is a creative gallery in Portimão, Portugal with a focus on global art + sustainability. Our founder + curator, Lauren Torres, believes that beautiful art can change all communities for the better. Sphinx is dedicated to showcasing the work of underrepresented artists - focusing primarily on BIPOC + the LGBTQIA+ community. The events, programs + uniquely curated collections reflect the Sphinx philosophy of living beautifully while championing global creativity. Sphinx welcomes art workshops of all sorts + is committed to maintaining an open + safe environment for everyone.

Torres + her partners bring a unique global perspective to Sphinx. Lauren is a Cuban-American Miami native + has traveled to nearly sixty countries - living in Tel Aviv, Uganda, Kenya, + now southern Portugal. Her past careers in marketing, international development, + celebrity styling have equipped her with a diverse range of skill sets + knowledge that empower her as she takes on this role at Sphinx.
